2009 Festival Special
Interest items
On Saturday May 9th the
audience and casts of the 24th Original One Act Festival received a
surprise. After the performance of One Step Braver, the
story of Ellory Shempp's journey to the US Supreme Court to abolish
mandatory prayer in schools, Tom Zuehlke, the Producer, appeared on
stage during the curtain call with an announcement. The subject of
One Step Braver, Ellory Shempp had flown in from Boston and had
been sitting in the front row, watching his story unfold.
The Service by Mike Willis has been published by Brooklyn Publishers
LLC. The VPW is credited in the printed edition as the first stage
production with a listing of the cast from the 2009 festival.
